Woven Threads Clutch Bag Gift Bag

Hi Everyone,

Today I am bringing you a cute handbag style gift bag using the current in colours and the Woven Threads designer series paper.  I hope that you like it and will give it a try.

Materials

1 sheet of 12" x 12" card stock
1 piece of matching card stock 6" x 4 1/2"
2 pieces of designer series paper 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" and 1 piece 3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Scraps of card stock for the sentiment layers
Stitched rectangle dies
Die cutting machine
A piece of ribbon approximately 12"
Red line tape
Multipurpose adhesive
In colour faceted gems
Flat back pearls
Matching ink
Stamp set with a sentiment of your choice
Mini dimensionals
Velcro dots

Instructions

Score the 12" piece of card at 3" and 9" and then turn 90 degrees and score at 5" and 7". Then score at 4 1/2" and 7 1/2" down to the first score line and at 6" down to about the 2" point, turn 180 degrees and repeat to match. Fold and burnish all of the full score lines.

There will be a large rectangle at each corner and these need to be removed (see picture) to release the tabs and the side pieces of the bag.

Add the designer series paper to the front and back section of the bag.

Add red line tape to the tabs and then fold these up to make the sides of the bag.

Round the bottom corner of the bag flap and the dsp and then adhere the dsp to the flap leaving a small border all around.  Add red line tape to the reverse of the ribbon and then adhere the ribbon to the flap, it should go all the way around front and back.  Add red line tape to the 1/2" tab at the top of the flap and adhere that to the back of the bag so that the flap folds over the top.

Die cut two rectangles, one in matching card stock, one in whisper white and then stamp your sentiment to the white layer and adhere it to the centre of the coloured layer. Add mini dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and arrange on the front of the bag so that it straddles the ribbon layer.  Add a velcro dot to the centre of the back of the flap and the matching piece to the centre of the front of the bag.

Decorate with faceted gems and add flat back pearls to the four corners of the bottom of the bag.

There you are, a quick and simple handbag gift bag, I hope that you will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX

Pressed Petals Pop Out Gatefold Card

Hi Everyone,

Today I am making a pop out gatefold card which was inspired again by the lovely Sam from Mixed Up Craft.  I've used the beautiful pressed petals designer series paper again, I absolutely love it and mixed it with merry merlot and rococco rose card stock.  I hope that you like it.

Materials

1 x 6" x 12" card stock for the base (rococco rose)
4 x 2 7/8" x 5 7/8",  4 x 2 x 5 7/8", 1 x 1 3/8" x 5 7/8" in contrasting card stock (merry merlot)
2 x 1 7/8" x 5 5/8" very vanilla card stock to write messages on the reverse of the card
1 x 1 1/2" x 12" rococco rose card stock for the belly band
1 x 3 1/4" square merry merlot for the sentiment layer
1 x 3" square very vanilla for stamping sentiment for the front
scrap of very vanilla for the inside sentiment
Scrap of rococco rose for the inside sentiment mat
4 x 2 5/8" x 5 5/8" designer series paper
2 x 1 7/8" x 5 5/8" designer series paper
1 x 1 1/8" x 5 5/8" designer series paper
2 small scraps designer series paper for the sides of the belly band
Floral essence stamp set
Merry merlot ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Red line tape
Trimmer
Scoreboard

Instructions

Score the card base piece on the long side at 5 1/4" and 6 3/4", then flip over and score at 3" and 9".

Adhere all the designer series paper layers to the card stock mats and then adhere them to the card base.

Stamp the sentiment to the very vanilla layer for the inside, mount it on contrasting card stock and glue the centre section only to the centre panel of the card so that it overhangs it on both sides.  Stamp the sentiment to the outside square layer and mount on the contrasting card stock.

Wrap the belly band piece loosely around the card, don't score it, add the outer sentiment mat to the centre of the belly band and adhere in place with red line tape (or similar).

Slide the completed belly band over the card and its finished.

I hope that you like this card and will give it a try.

Pressed Petals Z fold panel card

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a Z fold card, I love making these in all their variations.  This one I have adapted from a card that I saw on Mixed Up Crafts and I have used the stunning Pressed Petals designer series paper and the Daisy Lane stamp set.

Materials

1 piece of merry merlot card stock 10" x 7"
2 pieces of rococco rose card stock 2 1/4" x 6 3/4", 4 pieces 2 1/4" x 2 1/4", 1 piece 2 1/4" x 1 3/4"
2 pieces of  Pressed petals dsp 2" x 6 1/2", 4 pieces 2" x 2", 1 piece 2" x 1 1/2"
1 piece of whisper white 2 1/4" x 6 3/4" for the back to write your message

For the topper: 1 x 3 1/8" square merry merlot, 1 x 2 5/8" square rococco rose, 1 x 2 1/8" square dsp and 1 x 1 5/8" square whisper white

Merry merlot ink
Daisy Lane stamp set
Trimmer
Scoreboard
Layering square dies
Die cutting machine
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Pearls

Instructions

Put the long edge of the merry merlot card stock to the top of the scoreboard and score at 2 1/2", 5" and 7 1/2".  Turn to the short side and score at 2 1/2" and 4 1/2" between the first and last score lines only.

Put the card in the trimmer and cut the two lines that you have just scored at 2 1/2" and 4 1/2" to give you two long slits, horizontally across the card.
Fold along the vertical score lines at 2 1/2" to make a mountain fold and at 5" to make a valley, don't score the line that is at 7 1/2".  Push the centre section out and burnish the fold (it will look like a centre step card on its side).

Adhere the dsp layers to the rococco rose layers and then adhere them all to the card base.  This will leave the front centre section for the layered squares.  Die cut the squares as detailed above and layer them up, then stamp a sentiment on the whisper white layer and add that to the centre with dimensionals. Decorate with a pearl at each corner of the rococco rose layer.

Adhere the whisper white layer to the back of the card to write your message.

I hope you like this card and will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Perfectly Plaid Embossed Christmas Card Pack

Hi everyone,

Today I want to show you a cute little 4" x 4"
embossed card. These could be made up into packs to sell at craft fairs.  I hope that you like them and will give them a try.

Materials

For each card:

1 piece of whisper white 4" x 8", scored in the middle to make a 4" card
1 piece of shaded spruce card stock 3 3/4" square
Scrap of gold foil for the starburst circle
Scrap of wrapped plaid dsp for the tree
Scrap of whisper white for the sentiment
5" of ribbon (this one is from my personal stash)
Perfectly Plaid stamp set
Shaded spruce ink
Starburst punch
Pine tree punch
Classic label punch
3D Tufted embossing folder
Die cutting machine
Dimensionals
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

Fold and burnish the card base.

Put the square of shaded spruce card stock in the embossing folder and run through the die cutting machine, then adhere the ribbon to it and glue to the front of the card base, leaving a small border all the way around.

Stamp a sentiment on the scrap of whisper white and one inside the card if required.  Punch out the sentiment for the front of the card with the classic label punch, add dimensionals and adhere to the card over the ribbon.

Punch a tree from the wrapped in plaid dsp and a circle from the gold foil, adhere the tree to the centre of the circle and then add to the front of the card with dimensionals.

Although it looks from the list that you need a lot of supplies, you only need a small amount of everything to make the card. It would be easy to get a pack of cards from a couple of sheets of whisper white, one shaded spruce and one wrapped in plaid with just a few scraps for the decoration.  Give it a go, its easy.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
