Magnolia Lane Gift Box

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a small gift box with an acetate window which holds two 50ml bottles of bubble bath or shower gel.  I've decorated it with two pretty magnolia flowers which I have stamped using the new Delicata Silvery Shimmer Ink.

Materials

1 piece real red card stock measuring 5" x 6 1/2" for the base
1 piece real red card stock measuring 5 1/16" x 6 9/16" for the lid
1 piece of acetate measuring 2 3/8" x 3 7/8"
Scrap of real red for the flowers
Scrap of silver foil for the leaves
Small piece of ribbon for the bow
Double sided tape (I used red line tape)
Stitched Nested Labels Dies
Magnolia Lane stamp set
Magnolia Memory Dies
Die cutting machine
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Sprig punch
1/2" circle punch
Glue dots

You can also follow my YouTube video to see how I made this box

Instructions

Score the two pieces of card stock at 1 1/4" on all 4 sides, fold and burnish the base and cut up the tabs to make a box base and glue the tabs in place.

Stamp the magnolia flower images on the scrap of real red card stock with the Delicata ink and leave to one side to dry (it takes a few minutes otherwise it will smudge).

Arrange the nested label die which measures 3 1/2" from point to point in the centre of the centre panel of the lid and cut out with a die cutting machine. On the inside of the lid, add the acetate panel adhering with the double sided tape. Then fold and burnish the score lines and cut up to the score line on each of the 4 corners to make the tabs as you did with the base. Add adhesive to the tabs and fold the lid together around the base ensuring a perfect fit.

When the lid is dry, punch finger holes in either side of the lid with the 1/2" punch to make it easier to remove the lid.

Once the ink is dry, die cut the two magnolia flowers and then punch out two sprigs with the silver foil card and the sprig punch.  Arrange the flowers around the bottom point of the acetate panel on the front with the sprigs behind them using dimensionals.

Tie a bow in the ribbon and attach to the top corner of the box with a glue dot. Add your bubble bath/shower gel and you have a lovely little gift.  This can be made in any colour with any flower punch or die, the options are endless. Make them for your craft fairs, your friends, as stocking fillers, they are really quick and easy to make.  Hope you like it and will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
