Woven Threads Gift Box

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking around for gifts to make for my craft fairs and found these small bottles of shower gel (Wilko's) which are relatively inexpensive and would make great like stocking fillers or gifts for co-workers, teachers etc.  I've designed a box using the 2019 in-colours, beautiful woven threads dsp and the matching in-colour ribbons.  I hope you like them and will give them a try.

The bottles hold 50ml of shower gel and are 4" tall.

There is a video tutorial over on my YouTube channel at:

Instructions

On the scoreboard put the 5 1/2" side to the top and score at 1 1/4", 2 1/2". 3 3/4", 5", then rotate so that the long side is to the top and score at 1 1/4", 5 1/4", 6 1/2".

Fold and burnish all the score lines and then cut as per the diagram below.

Add the dsp strips to the long sections as shown in the picture. Round the corners on the lid section as shown in the picture.

Put adhesive on the long tab and fold to make the box shape.

Fold in all four of the bottom sections, glueing as you go and making sure that the front one is the last so that is the one that sits on top for a neater finish.

Fold in the side flaps and close the lid, you may need to trim a sliver off either side of the piece of the lid that goes inside the box if you have trouble closing (sometimes when we trim, we don't get all of the score line off and this may hamper the closing of the box).

Put a strip of tear and tape on the back of the ribbon and fold the ribbon around the box with the join to the front and stick in place.

Punch out a 1 1/2" circle in matching card stock and then stamp a sentiment on the scrap of whisper white and punch out. Add the stamped image to the coloured circle and add this to the front of the box (covering the join in the ribbon) with a couple of dimensionals.

I hope you like this project and will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
