Petal Promenade Wedding Card and Gift Envelope

Hi Everyone,

Today I'm bringing you a beautiful gate fold wedding card in the gorgeous petal promenade dsp and the lovely grapefruit grove cardstock.  The sentiment is embossed in gold and decorated with gold butterflies and pearl embellishments.  Many couples now already have their own homes and the traditional wedding gifts are no longer appropriate, so how about a pretty envelope to contain that gift card or money gift instead.

I'll show you how to make it:

Materials for the card

1 x piece of grapefruit grove cardstock 10" x 7" and scored on the long side at 2 1/2" and 7 1/2"
1 x very vanilla cardstock 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" for the inside mat
4 pieces of dsp 6 3/4" x 2 1/4"
1 piece grapefruit grove cardstock 3" x 3"
1 piece of dsp 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
1 piece of very vanilla 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Versamark ink
Gold embossing powder
Heat tool
Embossing Buddy
Dimensional
Glue
Grapefruit grove ink pad
Dandelion Wishes stamp set
Well Said stamp set
Embellishments of your choice, I used gold foil butterflies and gold coloured pearls

Materials for the envelope

1 piece grapefruit grove cardstock 7 1/2" x 7"
1 piece grapefruit grove cardstock 6 1/2 x 1 1/2" for the bellyband
1 piece dsp 6 7/8" x 2 1/8"
Scrap of gold foil and very vanilla for the sentiment
Pretty label punch
Dimensionals
Glue
Embellishments of your choice, I used gold foil butterflies and gold coloured pearls and grapefruit grove ribbon
Corner rounder punch (optional)

Instructions

1.  We will do the embossing first so that it has time to set and for the paper to cool down again.  Use the small square piece of very vanilla and a scrap large enough for the sentiment for the envelope. Rub the embossing buddy over both pieces of card to remove any sticky fingerprints or marks. Using Versamark ink stamp your sentiment in the centre of the square piece and on the scrap for the card.  Sprinkle embossing powder all over the stamped images and shake off any excess. Then set with the heat tool, turn the heat tool on for a minute first to warm it up and then move gently above the image and watch the magic happen.  It only takes a few seconds, then leave to cool down.

2.  Cut and score the piece of cardstock to make your card base and fold and burnish the score lines.
3.  Open the card out again and lay it flat so that you can adhere 2 pieces of the dsp to the two flaps        of the gate.

4.  Turn the card over and stick the remaining 2 pieces of dsp to the other sides of the flaps.
5.  Stamp the sentiment to the centre of the very vanilla mat and then adhere that to the centre panel       of the card.

6.  Fold the card and burnish the edges so that it lies flat.
7.  Adhere the square piece of dsp to the square piece of grapefruit grove card and then mount the             sentiment to the centre of that with some dimensionals. Put glue on half of the back of this so that       this section will only stick to one side of the card. Decorate with your chosen embellishments.

Gift envelope

The inspiration for this came from a project by Amanda Charlesworth #Scrimpingmommy.

1.  Cut and score the cardstock on the long side at 2 1/4" and 5 1/4" and fold and burnish the scorelines.

2.  Round the corners on the top flap of the envelope and also on the dsp.

3.  Adhere the dsp to the top flap of the envelope and put some glue on the inside side edges of the bottom flap to make the envelope.

4.  Fold the bellyband strip loosely around the middle of the card and glue the two ends together (or use strong tape).

5.  Punch out the sentiment using the pretty label punch and also punch out a piece in the gold foil. Stick the sentiment on the gold with dimensionals leaving a small border along the top and then stick the sentiment to the bellyband with strong tape or glue.

There you have it. A beautiful card and matching gift envelope for the Happy Couple.

Give it a try, its easy, just take it one step at a time.

Good luck
