Scottie Dog Joy Fold Card - North Meets South - Part 2

 Hi Everyone,

My lovely friend Donna (Taffy Crafting) came to visit and we spent all day making cards and a couple of videos and we had lots of fun and plenty of laughter along the way. We decided to use the Scottie Dog Punch and make a Joy Fold Card (although Donna calls them Flip Flop Cards haha). I punched mine out in white and made it a Westie, Donna used black for the traditional Scottie dog and we both used different designer series papers. You can watch the video Tutorial by clicking on the link below:

Craftykarendesigns & Taffy Crafting

Materials

1 piece of thick basic white card 4 1/4" x 9 3/8", 1 piece 3 1/4" x 8 1/2"
1 piece of dsp 4" x 6", 2 pieces 2 7/8" x 4", 1 piece 4" x 3" (I've used the Subtles dsp in Highland Heather)
Scraps of basic white, gorgeous grape and poppy parade
Black dots
Gorgeous Grape ink
Charming Sentiments stamp set
Sentiment Silhouette dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Celebrating You stamp set
Scottie Dog Punch
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Take Your Pick Tool

Instructions

On the long side of the larger piece, score at 6 1/4" and fold and burnish, then score the smaller piece on the longer side at 4 1/4" and fold and burnish. This makes the two parts of the card base.

Add the dsp layers to the inside and back and front of the flap and to the front of the smaller card, remember that this is going to open the opposite way.

Adhere the smaller card to the larger card, add glue to the back and hover it over the centre section of the larger card around the flap of the larger card (see pictures) and fix in place.

Punch out two dogs and two bows in a contrasting colour, adhere the bows to the dogs neck area.  Add some black dots for eyes.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then die cut with the corresponding silhouette die. I also die cut a small red heart from this set.  Stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card if required.

Add dimensionals to both dogs, the sentiment and the heart and position on the front of the smaller card. Overlap one of them so that it's bottom sits on the flap of the larger card and don't add dimensionals to the front of the dog. This forms the latch to keep the card closed. Place the other dog facing it and add the sentiment below and the heart in between them.

I love the way this card turned out and I had great fun making the video with Donna.

Here's a closer look at Donna's card - all the instructions are over on her Blog at

Texture Chic Wedding Card - Birds Fun Fold Friday

 Hi Everyone,

I've made a quick Z Fold card with the Texture Chic dsp today using a colour I don't normally go for, petal pink - it's not my favourite pink I have to say. However, it looks lovely in this designer series paper and I've teamed it with some gold hearts and a bit of heat embossing too. Let me show you what I did.

Materials

1 piece of petal pink card stock 4 1/8" x 11 1/2", 1 piece 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"
1 piece of basic white 2 5/8" x 3 7/8", scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of dsp 5 1/2" x 3 7/8", 2 pieces 2 5/8" x 3 7/8", 1 piece 4" x 2 1/2"
Gold foil to punch out the hearts
Heat Tool
Metallics Embossing Powder
Versamark ink
Hearts Punch Pack
Celebrating You
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder

Instructions

On the long side score the petal pink card at 2 7/8" and 5 3/4" and fold and burnish to make the Z Fold base.

Add the dsp layers to the front and back of the card base and to the reverse of the middle section so that it will be seen on the outside of the card when it is displayed (this layer is optional).  Add the remaining piece to the smaller mat section.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of basic white for the front and another one on the larger piece for the inside of the card using Versamark. Sprinkle with the gold embossing powder and set with the heat tool.

Attach the smaller piece of pink card, using dimensionals on the left hand side only to the card front, make sure it sits centrally on the card.

Punch out 2 hearts from the gold foil and attach to the card front as seen in the picture.

Add the larger embossed piece to the inside of the card as shown and the small sentiment across the 2 hearts on the front with dimensionals.

I hope that you like my pretty Z Fold card, please pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made too.

Celebrating You With Butterfly Kisses - Ink, Stamp Share Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Ink, Stamp, Share group and the theme is 'Celebration' and I have used the Butterfly Kisses dsp and the Celebrating You stamp set and the Let's Celebrate Embossing Folders.  I've made a card for a very special young lady - my eldest Grandaughter. Here in the UK it is exam season for high school children and she has been working so hard revising for her exams all year, she deserves to do really well.  She is also my little crafting buddy and likes to make cards and sew with me too so I'm looking forward to the exams being over and us being able to spend some crafty time together.

Materials

1 piece of night of navy card stock 4 1/8" x 11 1/2", 1 piece 1 3/4" x 3 1/4"
1 piece of fresh freesia card stock 3 3/4" x 3 7/8", 2 pieces 1 3/4" x 3 7/8", 1 piece 5 1/4" x 3 7/8"
1 piece of basic white card stock 5" x 3 5/8"
1 piece of dsp 3 1/2" x 3 5/8", 2 pieces 1 1/2" x 3 5/8", scraps to fussy cut some butterflies
Night of navy ink
Let's Celebrate Embossing Folders
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Paper snips
Celebrating You stamp set
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the navy card at 4" and 9 1/2" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Add the mats and layers to the front and inside front of the card, I've used the reverse of one piece as a contrast.

Stamp a sentiment on the white card and adhere to the inside of the card.

Run the small piece of navy through the machine in the Embossing Folder, I chose the piece that had the word 'Bravo'.  Add this to the centre of the card front overlapping the narrower side of the gatefold.

Fussy cut some butterflies, I've added two using dimensionals to the sentiment layer and adhered a whole one and a partial image on the inside.

I do hope she likes it, I'm going to give it her at the end of the exams, we won't know how she's done until the summer but I'm very proud of her whatever happens.

Please pop over and see what everyone else has been making too.
