Twisted Easel Card

Hi,

My name is Karen and I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK.  I love all sorts of papercraft but fancy fold cards and 3D projects are my favourite.  Today I'm bringing you a twisted easel card which is really quick and simple to make and can be changed up in lots of ways by changing the dsp, the decoration and the sentiments.  At the bottom of this tutorial, I will put some pictures of other cards I have made using this technique.

I'd love you to give it a go and send me a picture of your version, good luck...

Materials

1 sheet of 12 x 12 card stock for your card base and mats (I've used soft sea foam)
2 pieces of dsp 5 3/4" square (I've used Forever Lovely)
Scraps of lovely lipstick foil (free with Saleabration)
Beauty Abounds stamp set
Butterfly Beauty Thinlets
Memento Black ink
2" circle punch
Starburst punch
Dimensionals
Glue

Instructions

Cut a piece of card stock to 6" x 12" and score in half at 6"

Place the top half of the card stock in your trimmer and score a diagonal line from the top right hand corner to the middle left centre.

Fold and burnish both score lines.

Adhere one piece of dsp to the square base of the card.

Cut another piece of card stock 6" x 6" and adhere the other piece of dsp to that.

Now you come to the fun part, how are you going to decorate it?  In this version I have chosen to stamp the flourish from Beauty Abounds onto a rectangle of the soft sea foam card and then layer it onto a piece of lovely lipstick foil card with a 1/4" border all around it.  For the sentiments, I have stamped them in memento black on soft sea foam and punched them out with a 2" circle punch.  I have then layered then onto a starburst layer of lovely lipstick foil card with dimensionals.

To adhere the front panel to the card, add glue to the triangle part of the base and then lay the front piece on the top making sure that it is square with the card base.

Then add your decoration and sentiments to the card front with dimensionals, making sure that they will be the right way up when the card is opened and placed in the easel position.

Then add dimensionals to your second sentiment and place on the base of the card in such a position that your card front will stand up when wedged behind it.

See picture

I then added some tiny butterflies which I die cut from the Butterfly Beauty thinlets, but you could just as easily use rhinestones or pearls, whatever you have in your stash.

Here are some other examples of cards I have made using this technique, I hope you like them and I hope that you will give it a try.

Happy Stamping,

Karen XX
