Cheerful Daisies Birthday Card - Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

The theme for this hop is the New Annual Catalogue which is full of exciting new things to play with. I've chosen to use the Cheerful Daisies bundle and teamed it with Subtles dsp stack in Bubble Bath which is one of the new Core Colours and is very pretty and combined it with an old favourite, Melon Mambo.

Materials

1 piece of Melon Mambo card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scraps for the flowers
2 pieces of basic white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", scraps for the flowers and sentiment
1 piece of Subtles dsp in Bubble Bath 3 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Cheerful Daisies stamp set
Cheerful Daisies dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Basic Rhinestones
Melon Mambo ink
Bubble Bath ink
Nature's Prints stamp set
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose Adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the Melon Mambo at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere one piece of the basic white to the card front and then add the dsp layer to that.

Die cut the clump of three flowers in Basic White, then die cut the solid flowers and the intricate tops of those flowers in Melon Mambo to add some more depth and interest. You can cut all the layers in just one colour but I thought I would try two to see what it looked like and I have to say that I like it. Die cut two of the twiggy pieces.

Snips the white flowers apart carefully to make three separate flowers, then add the white layer to the solid melon mambo pieces and then add the intricate melon mambo pieces over the top. They are really easy to line up so that they match.

Add dimensionals to the back of the flowers and arrange them on the card front, make sure you leave enough space below them for your sentiment.  Tuck in the twiggy bits around them, split them apart to make smaller bunches if you like.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of white and then die cut using the label sentiment from this die set and add to the card front using dimensionals.

On the remaining piece of white, stamp a sentiment in the centre and add a flower to the bottom right corner. This is a two step stamp and I have used Bubble Bath as the solid layer and added Melon Mambo for the detail.  Adhere to the inside of the card.

Sprinkle some rhines stones on the card front and the card is complete.

Please pop over and see what everyone else has chosen from the New Annual Catalogue.

Cheerful Daisies Faux Stepper Card - Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

I've been playing with the lovely Cheerful Daisies suite again, I really like it especially the dies. I've teamed it with one of the new In Colours 2023-2025 - Moody Mauve and the Sending Smiles bundle too.

Materials

1 piece of Moody Mauve card stock 10" x 4 1/8", 1 piece 2 3/4" x full length A4
1 piece of basic white 2 1/2" x 5 5/8", scraps for die cuts and sentiment
1 piece of dsp 3 1/4" x 4", 1 piece 3 1/4" x 1 1/4", 1 piece 2 1/2" x 5 5/8"
Cheerful Daisies stamp set
Cheerful Daisies dies
Sending Smiles stamp set
Sending dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Moody Mauve ink
Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends
Basic Rhinestones
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose Adhesive
Dimensionals
Mini Glue Dots

Instructions

On the long side of the larger piece of card, score at 3 1/2", 7" and 8 1/2", score the thinner one in half at 5 7/8", fold and burnish both pieces.

Stamp some of the large daisies in the Moody Mauve ink on the Moody Mauve dsp to give a bit of interest and some texture. Adhere these pieces to the sections as shown in the picture.

Add the remaining dsp to the front of the large folded piece and then adhere this in place, find the centre and adhere to the front and back of the folded card so that it steps over the rest of it to provide the tallest part.

Stamp a sentiment and some flowers on the basic white piece and adhere to the back of the card to write your message.

Die cut the flowers and then cut apart the bunch to give you 3 single flowers, leave the leaf section attached to the large daisy. Die cut the solid flowers and the intricate top layers.  Add these layers together to form the flowers, there will be 3 layers to each, colour in the flower centre with the Stampin' Blends.  Arrange these flowers on the card front and attach with dimensionals, you might need rolled up glue dots under the leaves.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap and die cut with the label die from Sending dies, add to the card from using dimensionals.

Sprinkle some rhinestones and the card is complete.

Children's Concertina Birthday Cards

 Hi Everyone,

This week I have been making Concertina birthday cards for children aged 1,2 and 3. I've used the Zoo Crew dsp which is very cute and some of the new Brights dsp stack as well as the Bright & Beautiful dsp. I've used a retired stamp set because I wanted something big and bold and a combination of current and retired dies for the numbers and letters. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials (for each one)

1 piece of thick white card 7 1/2" square (base) and 1 piece 7 9/16" square (lid), 4 pieces of 4" x 8 1/4" (inside concertina pieces - you need to work the number of these out depending on how long the name is, I'm giving the quantities for a 4 letter name)

8 pieces of coloured card stock 3 3/4" square, 2 pieces 4 3/8" square

8 pieces of dsp 3 1/2" square (for the inside) 1 piece of dsp 4" square (for the front)

1 piece of basic white 4" square (for the back), 1 piece 3 1/2" square (for the sentiment)

Scraps of coloured card for the numbers and letters

Ink to match the coloured card stock

Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose Adhesive
Mini Dimensionals
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Letter dies
Playful Alphabet dies
Square dies

Instructions

Score the two large square white pieces of card at 1 1/2" on all four sides and sold and burnish the score lines. Cut up the score lines as shown and wedge the 4 corner sections.

Add glue to the outside of the four tabbed sections and fold them in so that the corners are square and stick them in place to make the base first which is the slightly smaller one.  Then repeat with the larger one but I always stand the base inside the lid and glue the lid in place around it to make sure it is a snug fit.

Lightly mark the two pieces on the top to show which is the lid and which is the base so that you don't mix them up when you start to add the inside sections.

Score the 4" x 8 1/4" pieces at 4" and 8"  on both sides and fold and burnish in both directions as they will all fold in an accordion style.

Starting with the end without the 1/4" tab, start adhering them together, put a bead of glue along the tab, lay the next piece on top (the 4" square end) and then fold the tab over the top to adhere it in place.

Repeat until you have added all the sections, you should have a tab left at the end. You can cut this off if you want to but I've left it. Once you add the coloured card and dsp over the top, you can't see it.

Adhere all the dsp layers to the coloured card mats, decide which order you want them and adhere them in place along the concertina section - I do this before I add it into the box, I find it easier.

Add glue to the back of the two end sections and lay down on the inside of the lid at the left hand end and the base at the right.

The concertina section should now all fold up and fit inside the box.

Die cut the letters and numbers that you need along with the square for the stamped image on the front. I've used a retired set of letters but there is a current set which I have listed below but I don't have them yet.

Add mini dimensionals to the back of all the letters and then fix in place. I take the backing off and lightly lay them in place to make sure they are straight and then when I am happy with the placing, I press them down to secure.

Add the coloured card to the front and back of the box, then add the white square to the back to write a message. Add the dsp layer to the front and then stamp a sentiment on the die cut squares and add to the front, I've added them on an angle so I could add the numbers in the corners. I had cut out 4 of each number so have added 2 to the front and 2 on the inside front and back sections.

The card is complete and looking very cute.  It takes a bit of card and dsp as well as a bit of time but it's worth it. I've made lots of these over the years, for all ages and the recipients have always loved them.  I hope that you will give this card a try.
