Share it on a Sunday - Scrapbusting Thank You Card

Hi Everyone,

It's Share it on a Sunday time again and this week's theme was 'scrapbusting'.  We all have lots of bits and pieces of  card stock and designer series paper that we won't throw away 'just in case'.  So, today I have made a thank you card using scraps of card stock, really simple and easy to do.  Follow the links below to check what Donna and Victoria  have made too:

Materials

1 piece of basic black card stock 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
3 pieces of whisper white card stock 4" x 5 3/4"
Layering circle dies
Die cutting machine
Strips of card stock or dsp 4" x 1/2"
Scraps of matching card stock to make the butterflies
Rhinestones (the ones I've used are from my stash)
Butterfly duet punch
Multipurpose adhesive
Mini dimensionals
Thoughtful Blooms stamp set
Bermuda Bay ink

Instructions

Score the basic black card stock at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Take one of the pieces of whisper white and the two smallest of your layering dies and use them to cut holes in any formation (see picture above) all over this piece, I did 7.

On another piece of whisper white, arrange the coloured strips and glue them in place, side by side with no gaps.

Adhere the holey layer over the coloured strips to make the card front mat and then adhere it to the card front leaving a tiny border all the way around, the black makes the card front pop.

There is a tiny sentiment in Thoughtful Blooms and I've stamped this in lots of the gaps between the holes on the front of the card using Bermuda Bay ink.

Punch out a butterfly for every hole on the card front, use all of the colours.  Add a rhinestone to each butterfly and then bend their wings a bit to make them look like they are flying.  Add the butterflies to the card front with mini dimensionals.

There you go, I hope that you like the idea, give it a try and get rid of some of those bits that are no use for anything else.

Happy crafting,
