Good Morning Magnolia Spotlight Technique Card

Hi Everyone,

A couple of days ago I took part in a challenge to make a card using the 'Spotlight' technique which I've never tried before.  There are lots of examples on Pinterest etc but most of them were using big, busy stamps and I don't have any, so I just went with big and this is what I did.

Materials

1 piece of crumb cake card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
2 pieces of very vanilla card stock 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
Scrap of very vanilla
Crumb cake stampin blends (light and dark)
Crumb cake ink
Good Morning Magnolia stamp set
Paper snips
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Bone folder

Instructions

Fold the large piece of crumb cake in half and burnish to make the card base.

Using the crumb cake ink stamp the large magnolia flower to the right hand side of one of the pieces of very vanilla and then stamp the sentiment in the top left corner.

On a scrap of very vanilla, stamp the flower again using the crumb cake ink. I have coloured in the flower using the light and dark blends. I'm not very good at colouring but you don't have to be with blends, you can just scribble and it won't show, they are amazing!

Fussy cut the coloured in flower and add dimensionals to the back.

Stamp a sentiment on the piece of very vanilla for the inside, I have also stamped the small magnolia flower too. Add this layer on the inside of the card.

Add the stamped layer to the front of the card and then add the fussy cut flower over the top,  lining it up with the stamped image below.

There you go, my first attempt at the 'spotlight' technique.
