Lights Aglow - Christmas Lights - Standing Gatefold Card - Crafty Collaborations Catalogue Launch

 Hi Everyone,

I wanted to have a play with the new Christmas Lights Bundle and the Lights Aglow designer series papers from the new Mini Catalogue so I made a Standing Gate Fold Card which I saw originally done by fellow US Demonstrator Terri Gaines. I have tweaked the measurements slightly to account for the difference in sizes from US to UK. I actually think this may be better as a 6" card so will have a look at tweaking the measurements again so watch this space.

Materials

1 piece of cherry cobbler card stock 4 1/8" x 5 7/8", 1 piece 7 1/4" x 5 7/8"
1 piece of very vanilla card 2 1/2" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 2 1/8" x 5 5/8", scrap for sentiment
1 piece of Lights Aglow dsp 2 1/4" x 5 3/8", 1 piece 2 1/2" x 4 1/4"
2 pieces of Festive Foils Speciality dsp 1" x 5 5/8"
Scrap of gold foil
Heat Tool
Versamark ink
Metallics Embossing Powders
Trimming the Tree stamp set
Christmas Lights stamp set
Twinkling Lights dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Rectangle dies
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the larger piece of cherry cobbler at 1 3/8" and 2 1/2" from both sides, fold and burnish.

Add the two strips of Festive Foils to the outer edges of the smaller piece of cherry cobbler which forms the back portion of the card.

Adhere the back of the centre panel of the folded piece in the centre of the card with the strips.

Die cut a Christmas tree and a rectangle for the sentiment as well as a small star to go on the top of the tree. In the video I show several trees that I die cut, some in card stock, some heat embossed or in gold foil, but, I chose to add one to this card using the dsp.

Stamp a sentiment on the small rectangle and the piece of very vanilla for the inside of the card and heat emboss in gold. (I had to use sentiments from Trimming the Tree from the Annual Catalogue as my stamp set doesn't have sentiments.)

Adhere the vanilla piece on the inside of the card and add the remaining dsp mat to the other piece of very vanilla.  Adhere this piece to the left hand gate on the card.

Add the tree to the front panel using dimensionals and glue the star to the top of the tree. Add the sentiment above the tree and the card is complete.

  1. This project sounds like a wonderful way to showcase the Christmas Lights Bundle and Lights Aglow designer series papers! I love how you've adjusted the measurements to suit different card sizes, and the Standing Gate Fold Card design sounds stunning, especially with the festive foils and gold embossing. Your detailed instructions are super helpful for anyone looking to recreate this card, and the variety of die-cut trees adds a beautiful touch of creativity. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for more of your posts and might even give this project a try. Thanks for sharing such a festive idea! Learn more
