Cute Little Pillow Box Treat Boxes - Ink Stamp Share Showcase Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I have been playing with the new Pillow Box Dies in the Mini Catalogue.  They are very quick and easy to make and could be used for all sorts of different small gifts and treats: chocolate, sweets, jewellery, make up etc. They would make great table favours for weddings and parties and fabulous for putting on the Christmas tree too. The possibilities are endless. I have made 4 to show you how different they can be: one for a gift for a lady - all pretty and pink, one more masculine animal print one, one with a cute penguin for Christmas and one covered in sweets. Which one do you like best?

Materials

1 piece of dsp 6" x 6"
Scraps of card for embellishments and labels
Pillow Box dies
Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine
Mini glue dots
Dimensionals
Inks to match
Stamp set - I've used Pansy Patch and Penguin Place
Twine
Basic rhinestones

Instructions

Die cut the basic pillow box in designer series paper, fold and carefully burnish the fold lines, I just used my fingers, remember it's not as tough as card stock, you have to treat it gently. Fold the straight lines first and then work around the curved folds.

I've used glue dots to hold the sides together but you could use wet glue but you would have to hold on to it for a couple of minutes until it grabs.  Add a couple of glue dots to the inside of one of the curved sections and then fold it over the over curved section, put your fingers inside and pinch them together. Repeat on the other side.

To decorate, I die cut an assortment of the flowers and labels that are included and stamped sentiments in matching colours.

Pink one - I die cut several flowers in pink and white, layered them together and added to the largest label after stamping the sentiment in polished pink to match the paper. I added some rhinestones for some added bling. I stuck the label on this one with dimensionals and then tucked the flap in behind it securing with a glue dot.

Animal print one - I added a label, stamped the sentiment in evening evergreen and added some twine, secured it to the pillow box with more glue dots.

Red peppermint one - I added the long label, stamped in old olive and punched out some sweets from another sheet of the dsp with a retired 1/2" punch (you could fussy cut them) and added them in a cluster. I added the label with mini dimensionals and tucked the flap in behind it.

Penguin one - I've punched out a penguin from the FREE Saleabration dsp (you could easily fussy cut it), added him with mini dimensionals and then laid the label across him as though he is holding it.

This is the sort of thing that you could get the children helping with at Christmas, they are very easy to put together and can be decorated in lots of different ways. I hope that you like them.
