Hi Everyone,
Today I am hopping with the Stamp n Hop group and the theme is 'Favourite DSP' and you may have arrived here from Vickie's Blog. I've chosen to make a card and matching gift bag with the beautiful Peony Garden. Let me show you how I made it.
Materials
1 piece of basic grey card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 3" x 4"and a scrap for the sentiment die cut on the bag
1 piece of dsp 4" x 5 3/4"
1 piece of contrasting dsp 3 3/4" x 5 1/2"
1 piece 6" x 12" dsp for the body of the bag, 1 piece of contrasting dsp 4" x 4" for the flap
Scrap of dsp to fussy cut images
1 piece of whisper white 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" and 1 piece 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and a 2" circle
Basic grey ink
Prized Peony stamp set
Paper snips
Painted Label dies
2" circle punch
Detailed trio punch
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Multipurpose adhesive
Velcro dot
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone folder
Instructions
On the long side score the basic grey card piece at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish for the card base.
Adhere the largest dsp layer to the card front and then the next layer, leaving a small border all the way around the edges.
On the smaller piece of whisper white stamp the sentiment in the centre and then stamp the small peony flower over the top but stamp off first so that the ink leaves a lighter image as though it is in the background. Decorate the layer for the inside of the card in the same way. Stamp the same image and sentiment on the 2" circle for the bag at the same time.
Add the stamped rectangle layer to the basic grey layer leaving a border around the edges and add to the card front with glue.
Fussy cut some flowers from a piece of the dsp and arrange two of them at top left and bottom right of the sentiment layer on dimensionals.
For the bag - on the long side score the dsp at 1 7/8", 5 7/8", 7 3/42 and 11 3/4" then turn 90 degrees and on the short side score at 1 7/8", then fold and burnish all the score lines.
Cut up the vertical score lines to the horizontal score line to make the tabs for the bottom of the bag. Remove the small skinny rectangle at the end and notch the squares.
Add adhesive to the long thin tab at the end and fold the bag over to join at the sides. Turn it upside down and fold in the back flap, then adhere the two side flaps to the top of that and then adhere the front flap to secure the bottom.
Push the sides in at the top and pinch together all the way down the sides. These bags will fold flat and can be stored away until you are ready to use them.
Score the 4" square of contrasting dsp at 2" and fold in half. Corner round all four corners with the detailed trio punch. Add glue to the inside of one half of this piece and fix to the back of the bag so that the over piece will fold over the front of the bag to form the opening flap.
Die cut the swirly circle from the painted label dies in basic grey card and then add the 2" stamped circle to the centre. Add to the front flap of the bag with dimensionals so that it is central to the front of the bag and is half on the flap and half overhanging. Fussy cut another flower and add to the swirly circle. Add a velcro dot to the back of the circle and close the bag fixing the other half to the front of the bag.
I hope that you like this little set and will give it a try.
