Butterfly Gala Emboss Resist Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I've just taken part in a challenge to use the emboss resist technique which I had never done before.  I found it a little bit difficult, but this is my card and I want to show you how I made it.  I decided that because I was out of my comfort zone, I would bring out my old favourite stamp set Butterfly Gala to make me feel more at home.

Materials

1 4" x 6" card base (I have used a prescored bought one for this project)
1 piece of balmy blue card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and a scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of whisper white card stock 3 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Butterfly gala stamp set
Varied vases stamp set
Versamark ink
Clear embossing powder
Heat Tool
Embossing buddy
5 ink pads (I have used balmy blue, soft sea foam, daffodil delight, rococco rose and highland heather)
Sponge daubers
Classic label punch
dimensionals
multipurpose adhesive
Trimmer

Instructions

Rub over the whisper white card stock with the embossing buddy to remove all the static.  Stamp your images all over the whisper white layer with Versamark ink. Sprinkle clear embossing powder all over the card until all the images are covered, shake off the excess and set with the heat tool.

Start at one end of the card stock and dipping the dauber in the ink pad rub the ink over the section you want to cover in circular movements and build up the layers of ink until you get the required colour. Repeat this all over the card, changing colours and colouring in lines like I have done and blending between the layers of colour so that you don't have a definite line between them.

This is definitely a try it and see how it goes type of project, there is no right of wrong way, just whatever works for you.

Once I was happy with the colour, I adhered that layer to the balmy blue and then glued them to the card base.

I stamped a sentiment on a scrap of balmy blue card stock with balmy blue ink and punched it out with the Classic Label punch and then fixed to the card front with dimensionals.

Give it a try, it's fun, see what you can come up with.
