Share it on a Sunday - Sketch Challenge - Peaceful Poppies

Hi Everyone,

Today's theme for Share it on a Sunday was chosen by Victoria and she chose a card sketch.  These are great fun to do and you can let your imagination go and use any combinations of dsp, card colours etc to make it completely unique.  I chose to use the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper, it won't be available for much longer, so I am making the most of it while it lasts, it is so beautiful and the colours are lovely.  At the end of my blog today you will find links to Donna and Victoria's blog posts so that you can catch up with what they have made for the theme this week.

This week, we have launched our new Craft Group on Facebook, Craft and Banter (see top right of page) which is a place for crafters to show off what they do (doesn't have to be just papercraft, all vocations welcome).  We would love you to share what you make, come on in, pull up a chair, grab a brew and have a browse and share a bit of banter with us.

This is the sketch that Victoria gave us to work from.

Sending You Thoughts stamp set
Stitched So Sweetly dies

Paper snips

Instructions

Layer up the different dsp pieces as shown in the sketch.  You could mat each layer with card stock if you wanted to but I chose just to use the Peaceful poppies designer series paper.

Stamp two of the large poppies on the blackberry bliss spotted piece of dsp and fussy cut them out.  Then cut up each petal towards the centre of the flower to release the petals. Twist the petals with a pair of tweezers to give them a bit of shape and then layer one on top of the other using a dimensional.  Adhere to the front of the card with a dimensional.

Stamp the long, tall poppy on the inside of the card with blackberry bliss ink and then also stamp one on the front of the envelope.  Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of whisper white and die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly rectangle dies. Add the sentiment layer to the front of the card with dimensionals.  There you are, a simple, quick card using up/showing off scraps of dsp.
