Tidings of Christmas Half Star Illusion Card - Crafty Collaborations - Share it on a Sunday

 Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a Half Star Illusion Card using the Tidings of Christmas designer series papers. I saw this on YouTube, made by Iced Images and I loved it and just had to have a go. It's much easier than I thought, let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of evening evergreen card 5" x 7", 1 piece 5" x 5", 2 pieces 2" x 6 1/2", 1 piece 2" x 6"
2 pieces of cherry cobbler card 3 1/4" x 4 3/4", 2 pieces 2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
2 pieces of dsp 3" x 4 1/2", 2 pieces 2" x 4 1/2"
3 pieces of ribbon approx 6" long
Scraps of cherry cobbler and basic white for the sentiments
1 piece of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Cherry cobbler ink
Heartfelt Wishes stamp set
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Red line tape
Multipurpose adhesive
Paper snips
Double oval punch

Instructions

Score the 5" square piece of card at 2 1/2" and fold and burnish. Score the 2" x 6" strip at 1 1/2", 3" and 4 1/2". Score the other two strips at 1 1/2", 3", 4 1/2" and 6", Fold and burnish all the score lines.

Add all the dsp pieces to their mats with multipurpose adhesive.

Mark the centre of the 5" x 7" card base at 3 1/2" and adhere the two larger mats either side of this central point.  Adhere the smaller mats to the front of the 5" square card piece.

Add redline tape to the 1/2" tabs on the two strips and also along the central line of the whole piece to adhere the ribbon.  Remove the backing and add the ribbon to each piece.

Remove the backing on the 1/2" tabs and fold the other end over to close the cube, you should have two cube shaped pieces now with the ribbon going all the way around.  Add red line tape to the pieces either side of where you have just sealed the cube. Remove the backing and lay one side down, at the centre point of the back panel with the folded end to the side of the card, repeat on the other side.  This gives you the piece to adhere the front smaller, folded card to. Now remove the backing tape on the front of these pieces and add the folded piece over the top, keep the fold to the centre of the card and adhere one side at a time.  Now the folded piece is adhered to the card.

Add red line tape to the two sections on the remaining strip that have the cut ends. Fold this piece in half so that the centre fold is in the middle and the cut ends are back to back.  Remove the backing on one side at a time and lay this piece in the centre of the folded card, so that the cut end meets the centre fold, make sure that this piece is also in line with the pieces you have stuck between the previous layers. It's supposed to look like these pieces are coming through the card and all linked together.  Repeat with the other side.

Everything should now be joined up and when you stand it up, it should look like half a star.

Stamp sentiments on the scraps of basic white and punch them out with the double oval punch. Punch out two larger ovals from the scraps of cherry cobbler.  Adhere to the card front as shown in the picture.

Stamp a sentiment on the remaining piece of white card in a landscape format  and then adhere this piece to the back of the card to write your message.

I do hope you like my version of the card that Iced Images made, pop over to YouTube and check her out.
