Heartwarming Hugs Thinking of you Treat Box

 Hi Everyone,

I'm hopping with the Stamp n Hop group today so you may have arrived on my blog from Sandra, so welcome. I have a little treat box for you with a mini bar (30g) of Dairy Milk inside.  There are people that I won't get to see this Christmas so I thought that along with their cards, I would send them a little sweet treat to enjoy and know that I am thinking of them. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of  old olive card stock 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" and 1 piece 4 13/16" x 2 13/16"
1 piece of dsp 3 1/4" x 1 1/4", 2 pieces 3 1/4" x 1/2" and 2 pieces 1 1/8" x 1/2"
Scraps of silver foil, real red and whisper white card stock for the decoration and sentiment
Forever Flourishing dies
Poinsettia dies
Tasteful Label dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Silver embossing powder
Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set
Heat Tool
Versamark  ink
Trimmer
Bone folder
Basic jewels
Mini glue dots
Multipurpose adhesive
Mini Dimensionals

Instructions

I know that the box lid sizes are a bit tricky but that additional 1/16" makes all the difference and makes sure that the box lid fits nicely.

Score both pieces of card stock at 3/4" on all 4 sides, fold and burnish the score lines.

Cut up the two vertical score lines on the short ends and notch into the squares to make tabs.

Add adhesive to the outside of the tabs and bring the fold lines in to meet the cut lines on the straight rectangular sections to make the corners.  Make the base first and then when making the lid, glue one end and then fit the lid to the box and then add the glue to the tabs and fold in to get a nice fit to the box.

Add the dsp pieces to the lid leaving a small border all around the edges on the top and all 4 sides.

Die cut two small poinsettia flowers in real red and 4 small leaves in silver foil.  Then die cut the label using the die from the Tasteful Label dies.

Ink up the stamp with the Versamark ink and stamp on the label, sprinkle with silver embossing powder and then set with the Heat Tool.  I love watching this happen, it's just like magic.

Add the sentiment label to the centre of the box lid with glue or dimensionals and then arrange the flower and leaves at one side of it and attach with glue dots. Add a rhinestone to the centre of the flower and the label too if you want to.

Don't forget to add the chocolate.  You can make lots of these quickly if you cut all the pieces at once and then just put them all together like an assembly line.  I'm going to make a selection of these to parcel up to send to family members that I won't be seeing this Christmas.

I hope that you like my project and will give it a try. Click on the link below to see what everyone else has been making.
